ABOUT ME

Hello, and welcome to my portfolio!

I’m Maya Thomas, a content writer, editor, and Historic Art & Design MA student starting in Fall 2027 at Sotheby’s Institute of Art in London. After graduating with a degree in English, I pursued a career in journalism as a commerce editor at Parade Magazine before transitioning to an in-house role as Who What Wear’s Associate Beauty Editor. This prompted a move to Manhattan for a year. Between interviewing and authoring expert-led content, I found myself drawn to the halls of many of the city’s most iconic historic art museums, galleries, and exhibitions, prompting the decision to pursue a master’s degree in art history. By completing a master’s degree in the subject, my goal is to use my background in literature and journalism to research and preserve works of art that frame the past in an entirely new light.
